1st Bitpanda BEST Committee Meeting

On November 29, 2024, the first BEST committee meeting took place at the crypto broker’s headquarters in Vienna. The agenda was packed with topics related to Bitpanda, BEST, Pantos and Web3. All but 2 members were present on site, and we were able to have numerous conversations and get to know each other better; the remaining committee members dialed in online. The aim of this article is to give a brief insight into the first committee meeting and how the day at Bitpanda’s Vienna HQ went.
Getting to know the committee members for the first time
Léon, Marco, Zsofia, Nate, Marina, Oliver and I were present on site, and David and Reto joined us online.
The day started at 9:00 a.m. at Bitpanda headquarters with a balanced breakfast, which provided a relaxed atmosphere for exchanging ideas and getting to know each other. Even during these relaxed conversations, initial impressions and opinions on the topics of crypto, Web3 and DeFi were exchanged. I quickly realized the depth of the other participants’ expertise and passion for these topics, and I immediately found common ground as our interests overlapped wonderfully.

Well fortified, the committee meeting got underway, which was basically divided into the following parts:
Introduction to the committee
We discussed what the committee is about, what its tasks are and how it can be integrated into the Bitpanda ecosystem. The duties of the committee and the duties of the individual members were also emphasized once again. All committee members have the goal of helping to shape an even better Bitpanda ecosystem. In addition, the structure of the committee was explained, and it was announced that the committee chairperson is Zsofia.
Introduction and explanation of the Bitpanda Ecosystem Token (BEST)
We were then given an introduction to BEST, in which the origins of the token and its development to date were explained. The transition from BEST 1.0 to BEST 2.0 was also discussed, including an explanation of the associated changes. In addition, the current functions and advantages of BEST for users of the Bitpanda platform were presented. Finally, the central role of the house token in the Bitpanda ecosystem was explained.
Introduction and explanation of Pantos
This was followed by the topic of Pantos, in which the creation of the token and its current functions in the multichain universe were presented. It was also shown where the token currently stands and what the roadmap for the transition to the mainnet looks like. The previous communication gap was also openly addressed, received with understanding and comprehensibly explained. At the same time, it was emphasized that a stronger focus should be placed on improving communication with the community in the future.
Web3 strategy from Bitpanda
Finally, Bitpanda’s chosen and planned Web3 path was presented and discussed in detail. The focus was on potential integrations and central key functions in which both BEST and Pantos will play an important role. Together, we discussed very good approaches and possible use cases that will anchor BEST & Pantos even more firmly in the ecosystem.
Summary of the 1st committee meeting
Overall, the first committee meeting was a complete success. We were able to discuss topics such as crypto, Web3 and DeFi in depth and discuss important points that will have a significant impact on the future development of BEST, Pantos and Bitpanda.
